Small details.....

Tiny matters considering the bigger picture, but details fascinate me. A few questions - someone will know the answers.

Tour de France winners, do they get their names engraved on something somewhere - roll of honour thing? If yes, how will then unengrave the winner's name from 1999-2005?

(That question prompted by this: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/others ... ds-newsxml

Wiped from history: Armstrong quote removed from walls of US training centre as shamed cyclist is dropped by sponsors

Second: That vase bowl trophy thing which the winner gets in Paris, assuming he's got 7 of them, will they want them back? Also the yellow jerseys?

Third: any news on the Sunday Times wanting their money back (too)?

Thanks. :)

Well, it's just that I recall Riis being asked for his yellow jersey back, and here it is from 2007:

The rest of it makes frankly hilarious reading, now.

Riis told to return yellow jersey

Cycling's governing body has called on 1996 Tour de France champion Bjarne Riis to return his yellow jersey after the Dane confessed to doping.

Have a read. Pat McQuaid spoke out!

Meh. It's just a piece of fabric.

Every day someone's in yelloe they get given a bunch of jerseys, most go to charity and some they get to keep.

Lance probably has literally hundreds of them lying around, let alone all the ones he's handed out to various shops, firms, charities, friends etc etc.
  • As well as the S T there is a very hard-nosed U S Insurance company who fought a legal battle with Mr Armstrong over some money paid out for winning numerous Tours. They do not seem to be the type to 'forgive & forget'.

Oh Yea. That's another small detail which people have their eye on.

Lance Armstrong could end up in court facing allegations of perjury and an attempt to reclaim millions of dollars of bonus money if a Texas-based insurance company decides to try to win back a payment to the disgraced cyclist that was made for winning the 2004 Tour de France.

SCA Promotions ............ Armstrong took the company to arbitration, where he received a settlement of $7.5m, made up of the original bonus plus interest and lawyers' fees.........However, it is believed that it is likely that SCA will eventually take legal action, ............
