13-28 shimano custom cassette

You can do it yourself I expect, I made up a custom 7 speed cassette using an HG-50 9 speed, but your issue will be with the 13T smallest, as most cassettes come with 11T or 12T smallest.

I had to use the 13-14 from the old Durace cassette, then took the 16.18.21.24.28 off the HG50 and used 8 speed spacers.

Its probably easier looking for a 11-28 or 12-28 10sp cassette. I can see a 105 cassette for £40 either 11-28 or 12-27 here http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=50454

You can buy Miche sprockets to do what you want, not sure of an actual supplier though.

Miche Primato sprockets, get a 13x28 and the 24/26 seperately.

Now I'm not familair with modern Shimano cassettes, but IF the smallest sprocket has the same fittings as larger sprockets on the cassette hub then you can make one up:
- the riviets can be removed (as I did) e.g. by using a dremmel tool on one end to remove the end
- you order 2 cassettes that between them give you the sprockets you want
- then mix and match the sprockets and spacers to assemble your designed cassette.

Using 2 cassettes complicates things due to the way Shimano sprockets are oriented, and that different cassettes come in different "families", so when mixed sprockets are put on a hub, the ramp/pins may not be aligned perfectly and shifting won't be optimum. But it will still work OK.

E.g. on the UG81-10 cassette there are 3 options

Option 1
Sprocket Sizes 11-13-15-17-19-21-24-28-32-36
Option 2
Sprocket Sizes 11-13-15-17-19-21-23-26-30-34
Option 3 --
Sprocket Sizes 11-12-14-16-18-20-22-25-28-32

You could make a cassette from (2) and (3) 28-25-22-20-18-17-16-15-14-13

Most, but not all. It seems the 10 speed UG81 and Ultegra 6700 have the larger cogs bonded together, but my UG 50 9 sp doesn't, and that runs up to 32T. May be Shimano introduced this bonded thing on 10sp cassettes due to the thinner sprockets.

I think the closest, easiest solution for the OP is to try the Ultegra 6700 12-13-14-15-17-19-21-24-27-30

I managed to customise a Shimano cassette to get a 13-28 nine speed. I used a Shimano 13 -25, cassette, removed
the 16 and added a Highpath Engineering 28 sproket. So, I ended up with 13-14-15-17-19-12-23-25-28.

Even if three or four of the cassettes are riveted together, the pins holding them together can easily be removed.
