Alternative vice / freewheeel removal

Ok so I'm trying to get a freewheel off my station hack.

I've got the correct tool, have used the skewer to secure the tool s to stop it slipping but I can't get the damn thing off with a wrench. Wisdom says stick it in a vice and use the tyre to get some purchase - only I don't have a vice.....

any alternatives or should I pop my head around a garage door somewhere and say 'scuse me mate can I stick this in your vice for 5 mins?

    I don't use a Skewer but attach a 24" breaker bar to it, get one person to hold the wheel and then you have two hands on the bar so you can make sure it stays in place.
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
