I've made the move to 1x10, can I improve my ratios or am I about right?
I've gone for a 33t x 11-36
By my calcs and use of some very clever stuff on the web, I've calculated the new set up gives me 0.91 ratio in gear 1 whereas I previously had 0.68 on my old set up. What does that mean in real world terms?
I realise it will come down to leg strength but do those figures represent a big step or is that something I will manage to deal with in a fairly short time?
I've had chance to ride a 1x10 demo, took it comfortably around the blue then the red route at FoD but there isn't much there that is steep. I ride south wales and we have some pretty steep stuff.

sounds like you have gone to small on your chain ring.
33-11 = 3:1
most SS run 32-16 = 2:1
you will climb up most things but wont go anywhere fast in the flats."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
