Ok, so i'll recycle this old thread like a good forum user. Updated pics and updated build list.

I'm gathering parts for a sweet new wheelset (comfortably sub 1200g by my calcs). They're going to be built up by forum user ugo.santalucia, probably in the next couple of weeks. The build will be:
    38mm Tubular rims(332g F 336g R)
    DATI Hubs
    CX-Ray spokes
    Sapim Alloy nipples
    Schwalbe Ultremo HT tyres

The rims were ordered from Hongfu via their website and the hubs and spokes are on their way from bikehubstore.com in the USA.

Always like to see people colour matching tyres and gates.

One of these passed me last summer and looked very nice.

    Hope you enjoy!

Very nice. A brochure of theirs fell out of a bike mag recently. Would normally chuck that sort of thing away - but no chance! Don't see many in the UK but a really nice looking frame. Like the brakes - technical marvels!

Looks like nice wheels. Might want to get some valve extenders though!

Is it safe to mount the tyres uninflated on a rim that isn't laced? Mine were pretty tight getting on, wouldn't want to crack that lovely carbon rim...

S'pose there's safe and 'safe'. It's probably not completely ideal but they're fine so far. I think if they cracked it would be a sure sign that they're not safe to ride. These things should be structurally sound enough to take a bit of rubber stretched over them.

The forces are going in the directions you'd expect a rim to withstand.

Well, after a damn long wait due mainly to the incompetency of the UKBA i got the hubs and spokes and finally laced them up ready to be sent for truing and tensioning by ugo.santalucia. Mad light.
