AMP rear suspension

Hi
I bought an old used full suspension bike on ebay a while ago which has an AMP rear suspension system. I have an issue with clunking (metal on metal) noises when riding over rough ground, coming from the spring assembly. Can anyone tell me how to get over this or the best way to set the spring tension up to stop it happening. Can the suspension be locked out to convert to hard tail?
cheers

Sounds like your spring is bottoming out - You'll probably need to try and source a new one. Is it a B5?A Flock of Birds

looking at that pic it looks like that is not the original spring. and it looks too short.
I would be on the phone to TF. Mojo. Loco or any other sus tuning guys to see who may have something to suit.
Also ask on Retrobike."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Aye, like nicklouse said, the spring looks too short. Sounds like it's getting coil bound (spring is reaching full compression before the actual shock does). Find out the stroke length etc and find a spring of the correct length and weight for you.0
-
sorry to sound stupid, but how do you find out the stroke length for the suspension and where can you get replacement springs from?0
-
Take the spring off, and measure how much the damper can move - that's the stroke length.0
-
thanks, and where can you get replacement springs?0
-
as said try calling TFtuned. mojo.loco or any of the other companies."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
