Feedback on a couple of things

Currently running on my RR8.1, is a X9 back derailleur (3 x 9 speed)

I want to buy a couple of tools to add to my collection, would this be all right, I don't really want to spend too much as I only maintain my bike and do that as a hobby.
Cassette removal tool:

Also I remember a thread (that I could not find anymore) about a 9 speed chain from Ebay, people were recommending it,so if anyone has the link
And could anyone recommend a cassette, thanks

The rear mech doesn't make a difference to the tools. Both tools will work fine but I prefer a lockring removal tool like this http://www.evanscycles.com/products/ice ... gn=froogle

Excuse my ignorance, but it says that it is for a Shimano cassette, but my guess is that it would work for any cassette, am I right?

I've got one like that but it wasn't deep enough to get into the splines on a centre lock rotor lock ring. The axle on the hub got in the way. I'd got for the other type just so it can be used on either even though I don't have centre lock hubs and rotors anymore.
