Working away in Newcastle, the bikes in the van,

How do , I'm from Barnsley but I will be working away in Newcastle for a while, can anybody recommend any good rides up there?

    have a look at the Virgin (formerly Northern Rock) Cyclone route. That seems well thought of.

    Chopwell - rideable in half an hour from Newcastle

    Kelder
    Natural riding in Northumberland - Rothbury is best.

    Then further afield you have
    North York Moors &Dalby
    Yorkshire Dales
    Glentress & Inners
    Lake District

    Rothbury is my local stomping ground and is only 45mins from Newcastle (in the van). Loads of great natural riding for all abilities and disciplines - its always quiet too. I'd be happy to point you in the right direction if you want.
