Hi all just picked a DH bike Scott High Octane with shivers, it came with a set of Hope M4 pre mono type, front is a number 3 and the rear is a number 8, both are direct mounted to frame and fork and both are running 180 rotors.

Now the Rotor isnt making full contact with the pads, on pulling pads out about the top 2mm isnt contacting the rotor so is creating a ridge in the pad. looking down at the calliper from above it looks like it could sit down about another 3-4mm on to the rotor before rubbing..

wondering if i should try bigger rotors say 185's ? cant see 200's fitting without rubbing against the calliper

they should be using 185mm rotors.

    old hopes used 165 185 203mm rotors
