Bars twice? Or was that grips?
Look to the classifieds or ebay to get the right bits at the right price.
I wouldn't be blowing £40 on bars in a £300 budget, you've got no cranks/BB in there.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
As stated in your previous post for that sort of budget you'll be better of finding a used fully built, ready to ride bike.
Even if you want to build it yourself - you're still going to have to trawl the classifieds, eBay, PinkBike etc to find used parts to keep to your budget and just make do with what you can find
If I was building a budget DJ bike with new parts I'd probably be looking at a Superstar DHX wheelset for £130. Then a DJ bar as well as stem, pedals, grips, seatpost & finishing kit from SixPack Racing - that's another £150 (min.)
Add tyres & a seat to that lot and you're already over budget! You still need frame, forks, drivetrain, cranks & brakes. Even if you find those parts second hand you're still gonna be looking at over £500.
As above- if you just wanna get out and start riding it would make much more sense to spend the £300 on a used bike"Why have that extra tooth if you're not using it?" - Brian Lopes

£300 is what ive got now, im sure ill get more than that

Pretty much everything im looking at at is used, from eaby, pink bike or from sales on here
I forgot to mention, the frame comes with good BB, headset.
Been out and bought pedal, cranks and arms, chain, tensioner and freewheel £70felix.london wrote:If I was building a budget DJ bike with new parts I'd probably be looking at a Superstar DHX wheelset for £130. Your better off buying a second hand bike then replacing parts as you get into it more, but if you go down the building route get the frame first then start on the rest.0

Only just saw the " Dirt Jump/XC " in the title - so that Scott I linked to would be pretty useless being single speed and all that...sorry
Still looks a decent buy at only slightly over budget for a brand spanker but yeah I agree - your best option is just picking up a cheap, used bike that's ready to ride and slowly customize/upgrade it as funds allow
That way you still learn how to build a bike but you can get out there straight away and don't have initial spiralling costs of building one from scratch."Why have that extra tooth if you're not using it?" - Brian Lopes

If you can find another £150:

Bargain, and will do a bit of everything.0 -
You see - I'd say that was "a bit of a bargain" too! Definitely looks like a lot of bike for £450.

Just bought this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190698189850? ... 500wt_12020

That description seems a bit suspect to me. Listing was ended because seller went to Germany? Boxed up so no viewings? and if I had had a 'super custom' bike 'hand built' for me, I would know the spec a little better than 'front suspension fork with adjustable preload'
Probably me being picky but I hope you paid with PayPal or have arranged to collect.
Hopefully I'm wrong and you have got yourself a decent starter bike.0 -
Seller has good feedback and all bike parts so he looks genuine,
Bike is a nice starter dj bike as well..0 -
