what high octane music do you listen to that keeps you pumping along :?:

  • Personally I think its distracting and detrimental to safety when cycling! it's bound to reduce awareness, no matter what ear phones are used. The scenary, fresh air, and the smell of countryside keeps me pedalling on! ;)
  • I'm with yeachan153, I'd rather hear the car coming up behind me. I listen to music when I get home.

Wouldn't even THINK about listening to music whilst out on the bike! Cyclists get enough flak from motorists as it is, don't give them more ammo. Would you use your phone whilst driving?

If you've ignored the previous advice and are still alive, how about the following tunes blasting through your headphones?

    Grey Massacre by SINISTER
    Dig by MUDVAYNE
    Heavily Medicated by BERZERKER
Everything starts with a f*uck by ALEC EMPIRE
    Any NAPALM DEATH track
    NOISM
The Now Diabolical album by SATYRICON
    Wait and Bleed by Slipknot

    Happy listening!

to byke68, thanks, someone finally answered the question rather than attempting to teach me right from wrong.
liking the berserker, which isn't my normal music so nice one.
and I'd only use my phone on my motorbike obviously :)

Yes we all tend to get on our high horse when music on a bike comes up... For me a little beethoven, Mozart, Bach. Or some acoustic Artists from the 60s or 70s such as Joni Mitchell or dylan

Depends on the type of ride i want to have. Or what part of the ride I'm on. If its a chilled ride then its chilled music, and for the cool down mile i put "Groove Armada - Hands of time" on and that really slows me down and chills me out.

For a faster ride i listen to a "Running Trax - Sprint" mix album i have. Its too fast for running, but perfect for the bike. Either that or something like Audioslave.

I often listen with just one ear pod in so I can hear traffic as well.

Personal faves for getting a good speed up are Slipknot, Anthrax, Audioslave,

I also find Rammstein helps a lot when climbing

I prefer the sound of vehicles passing me within inches at 60mph.

and there was me thinking byke68 was being sarcastic with some of the song titles

but i'm with the majority here. Music is a no go for me when out and about for reasons already stated, plus i can't hear when the front draileur needs trimming.

+1, I can't believe anyone would choose to make themselves effectively deaf to approaching BMW drivers

tend to shuffle all music, keeps the ear worms away more than anything, although this contributed nicely to a KOM at the end of a 70 mile ride..

I don't listen to music when out on the road, but do when on the turbo, and although this might not be high octane as such, this track REALLY GETS ME IN THE ZONE!

I hope it does the same kind of things to you that it does to me! :)
