What sort of discounts can you look to get when buying from the Giant store and how do you go about asking? And what sort of deals do local bike shops tend to do?

    Rather than discounting the price (eroding their margin), it's more common to offer you 10%-15% of the value of the bike in accessories or parts because they're effectively halving the discount. You'll also get a better deal on discontinued models.
