Shimano 7 and 9 speed chains - which is which?

I currently have two bikes in bits, with 7 speed and 9 speed cassettes. Both have their chains off and stupidly I put both chains down next to each other.... now I don't know which is which. Both are Shimano HG. Is there an easy way to tell the difference?
