Give your bike a name lads.
If yours already have one, feel free to share it here.

I'm getting a 2nd bike soon & I hope to get some wicked inspiration here.

"The red one" or "the mountain bike" and "the black one" or "the road bike". The last is particularly imaginative because it's not entirely black and, being a Tricross, not entirely a road bike either

Duh! Well done Homer. I was asking why anyone would want to give their bike a name. Dog yes, even a kitten, but bikes are inanimate. Really.

It's more of a reference than a name. If you saw it you wouldn't want to name it.

but what about Cat, Dog, Vicar. they are al names.

was great fun calling Vicar in or to heel.

Cat was just Cat and did Cat things.

I had a ride on the town bike once, apparently she had a name but i didn't think it was important to know it... because no one should name a bike. ever.

One of them's called "My black Marin Wolfridge".
The other one's called "My black Marin Wolfridge".
The hardtail's called "The little Kona". When it's built, otherwise it's "My hardtail frame".

I'm not a fan of naming inanimate objects, never named a car or anything - if someone asked my old Toyota was called Celia because its name badge had worn off where the other c was and my old Nissan was called Sylvia because it was a Nissan Sylvia.

The Cruz bit is getting a bit worn on one of the seat stays on my Heckler so maybe I should call it Santa?

  • I don't see why you shouldn't name an "inanimate" object. iPod is name given to an inanimate object.

It adds meaning to your bike, especially if it's been souped up or extensively customised. It's going to be the only one in the world.

By the way, I just found out Lebron James calls his bike "King James"!

Naming bikes and other assorted inanimate objects is not a problem (my axes, for example, have names).

My bikes are 'the black one', 'the green one' and 'the crosser'.

But naming your bike after yourself? That's just narcissistic. ......and a bit creepy.

  • Eric. Mine's called Eric. Everything I have is called Eric, apart from a Phillips screwdriver which is called 'Jos ' after the footballer Jostein Flo and a towel rail which is called Wendy the Tyrant, for reasons I've never been allowed to find out....
