Hello,

i'm looking to get a frame stripped - the easy part - but want to keep the raw steel look.

Can anyone advise what I need to do after the stripping part? I'm getting it dipped but the workshop can't finish it for me.

Any suggestions or links?

Thanks

Don't know for definite, but wouldn't a clear lacquer coat be the way to go?

Pretty tricky - it's difficult to get the lacquer to bond without primer, which obviously conceals the frame. It will tend to peel off. That's why only titanium frames are commonly found unpainted, as the material is fairly inert.

  • Cheers for the feedback - that's what I thought - Steel frames aren't quite as durable.

Looks like it could be a colour.

You could always paint it in a steel grey colour then? :)

    Don't forget powder-coating.
