I picked up my Bianchi Via Nirone as a summer holiday trainer last year on ebay. It was virtually new and is in mint condition (I think it dates from 2009/10). I love the original celeste colourway and its got Xenon on which in my opinion is not a bad groupset. It currently resides with my in laws in Malta. We manage to get over 3 times a year (roughly) and its a great bike to get some holiday miles in on. I would't say that Malta is a cyclists best destination, but there are a number of serious clubs that arrange events both in Malta and Italy/Sicily and the tour of Malta is every March (I think). Some of the roads are outstanding whilst some are like farm tracks but the weather is good and its big enough to get some great loops in!

I went to Malta a few years ago, loved it but the roads were terrible :D

Somehow Celeste is such a lovely colour for a bike.

I had the same bike when I got back into cycling a few years back. Mine was a 2009 year bike I think:

That's nice, is that the 2009? If so mine must be an earlier model?

I agree the colour is fantastic.

You are right in regards to Maltas roads although some of the central roads around Rabat have been refurbished/replaced and they are fantastic. But I was taken on a spin by a member of a Maltese cycling club and we went down to the west side of the island and it was more like off road!

Yes, looking at the decals I think yours is a couple of years older.
