Cycling down to Brighton

I quite fancy riding down to brighton tomorrow, however I've never taken a route down that way before. I am going from croydon to brighton and was hoping to follow the national cycle routes 21 and 20 down to brighton. Having never been on these before, are they clearly signposted and easy to follow? Whats the surfaces like on the trails as well? Any other possible routes that aren't to complicated, reason being I broke my phone so don't have gps at the moment so looking for a route that I hopefully wont get too lost on. Cheers

I found your link before hand, I plotted it on ridewithgps, but I was worried I would end up getting very lost considering i have no gps with me atm and the route was mainly though small countryish roads, although looked like a very nice route
. I'll be doing it tomorrow morning, i think ill just print out a map and hope for the best, should be good fun, never done a ride down to Brighton. Thanks. Anyone know about the National cycling routes 21/20 though? I saw some posts somewhere saying they were well signposted the entire way down. Thanks all! 0
