Dear all,

I am a documentary photographer (http://www.lordcob.com)/activist and I would like
your help to find some models for the following project about cyclists in
London:

We are Fragile

Being a cyclist, I always been aware of the dangers connected to cycling.
Surrounded by heavy vehicles in the roaring noise of trucks and buses
I always perceive myself as a fragile entity.
Instead trying to seek for safety, I continue to cycle because I want
to push my right of moving with this natural form of transport.
I would like to express this feeling of fragility by taking formal
portraits of naked cyclist, people who cycle every day to work. People
who were involved in bicycle accidents are welcome too.
The main goal would be to organize an exhibition in a place to be decided.

If you are older than 18 and you want to participate please contact me!

The portraits session will be held in a photography studio in London (to be decided), possibly
between 21 and 24 of May!

Best regards

Jacob Balzani

you've obviously set out what your agenda is for this project but how about doing something more positive and affirming about cycling rather than continuing to reinforce the idea that it's a dangerous activity.

I wish you well but it sounds rather self-pitying and promotes the idea of cyclist as a victim waiting to happen, there is enough propaganda about from people who would rather scare us off the roads as it is so it's not a project I would personally support.

It's art innit! Come on, give the guy a break! Come on there has to be someone out there willing to get nekkid on a bike. Where's Don Daddy D? He likes to get nekkid...

    No.

    Just no.

    This is a BAD idea.

    Cycling is SAFE FFS!

All this does is promote the idea that getting on a bike is akin to playing Russian Roulette with 5 of the chambers loaded.

Plus - I only want the helmet I wear on show thankyouverymuch

I find it's easier to tell them I'm a Hollywood producer. With rohypnol as a last resort.

All the critics need to lighten up here - this isn't a road safety campaign it's artistic self expression.
