I've just received a pair of these in the post, but they look identical! Does it matter which goes on the front/rear?

The only mark I can see is one says HG and one says AI?

Looking at Shimano Tech Docs, they appear to be identical units, just with different (length) bolts depending on whether they've fitted through the fork (long) or the bridge between the rear stays (short).
  • Thanks - obvious now you've said it!

They are the same. The only brakes I know of that are not are Campagnolo diferential brakes. - Dual piv front single rear.
