Kona Cindercone (2011) or Marin B-17 (2010)

Good day guys.

Anyone know which would be better to go for out of these two bikes? A friend of mine has them for sale, £500 each. Both are in great condition but I'm unfamiliar with them. My friend doesn't know much about bikes as he got them through his cousin that recently passed.

I'll be using it for XC and riding to work with the odd trail or two mixed in.

Any advise would be good, obviously I'll try both before buying...but I found it difficult to find any worth reviews on these two bikes.

    Both are too much cash second hand. The Kona is the racier bike, the Marin a bit more relaxed and stable. Hardly anything in the spec: ask to take them for a short test ride, then offer £400 max.
  • Cool. I can get him down to £400 at least I think. As I said he doesn't know anything really about bikes and I think he has just knocked £400-£500 off the RRP of these bikes. I don't think either have done more than 50 miles so they are in good condition.
