Nice thread Aggie. Here we go.

My mum (she died 5years ago) so that would be nice. Muhammad Ali and Stephen Fry.

April 7th 2012 my sons wedding.

    To be more confident.

It would have to be football world cup final 1966 at Wembley.

    Hope you like those answers.

My four questions are for RANDOM MAN.

    1. If you could have a super power what would it be?

    2. If the "four minute warning" sounded and you could do anything, what woud you do?

3.If you had the chance to eliminate one person from history before they could make an impact who/why?

4.What possesion would you find it most difficult to live without?

Ok Frank, I suspect we'll continue this discussion later, but here goes:

    1. The superpower I wish I could have had over the last two years was to transport myself supersonically to Australia to spend time with my daughter and son.

    2. I would try and contact as many family members and friends as possible.

    3. Stalin. I would imagine he has overseen the greatest massacre of human life in the most brutal ways imaginable, but I'm sure you'll tell me if I'm wrong

    4. I think you know the answer to this, it would be a bike, probably my tourer if you're being specific.

Ok AGGIEBOY I'll put the same questions to you as you put to Frank.

    1. My mate 'Nobby' who sadly died at 36 in a diving accident, Sir Kyffin Williams and Neil Young.

    2. Three weeks ago watching my youngest daughter make 3 qualifying times for the British Gas National swimming finals.

    3. I'd like all my older children living near me.

    4. As a Hammer, and we won it - the 66' World Cup Final

    1. You can live anywhere in the world, where? Pretty happy where I am now. If I had to pick somewhere else, probably either the Hague or Amsterdam (though the Jordaan area).

    2. What is your most prized/sentimental personal possession? Not very sentimental about possessions really. Something someonne bought me.Probably the espresso cups my 'rents bought me from Venice. But like I said, I'm not that attached to stuff.

    3. What skill/hobby would you like to learn/have? Would love to be able to write & produce my own records.

    4. What is your most embarrassing moment? A lot to choose from (unsurprisingly)! I was a terrible teenager. Around 15 I was going to go on a school trip with another school. Through the grapevine me and my friends had heard that one of the girls going was apparently very fit. Anyway, when we met her, I managed to come out with "we heard you were fit but you're obviously not". Anyway, we're friends now (took a while though - I wonder why? and she is quite fit), and I still get really very embarrased about that.

I'd like to ask Johnfinch the same questions :P

I'd like to ask Johnfinch the same questions :P

    1. Anywhere in the world would be Slovenia, although I'd have to be able to take my family with me.
    2. My most prized possession would be my bed, cos it's the first time I've ever had a bed that isn't too small for me. Not that I'm seeing much of it at the moment - I'm voluntarily sleeping on my inflatable mattress so my snoring doesn't prevent my pregnant wife from sleeping.
    3. Skill - I'd like to be able to ride a bike. Actually, I'd like to be able to kite-surf.
    4. Most embarrassing moment - having just bought some roller blades, I attempted to go downhill without bothering to check out the technique beforehand. The hill looked very shallow, and I thought if anything went wrong I'd just skate towards the grass bank and fling myself down on there. So anyway, down I went, accelerated horrifically quickly, couldn't slow down. Headed for the grass bank, but my skates got their before my body, I bounced off the kerb and went shooting off the other way. I eventually came to a halt by losing my balanced and slamming arse-first on to the concrete path. I couldn't sit down for a fortnight afterwards.

OK, my questions are for the one and only willhub

    1. What's your biggest ambition in life?
    2. What's the funniest thing ever to have happened to you?
    3. What's the best meal you've ever cooked?
    4. Who do you trust more than anybody else in the world?

Talking percentages I think the slaughter of the east Timorise population must be up there as in 1/3to1/2 of the population.

Without wanting to take this thread further down the OT route (but doing so anyway), the Belgians in the Congo (Congo free state) was pretty enormous.

Good estimates are around the 10 million mark.

Strangely, despite the fact it was pretty racial it's often not referred to as a genoicde.

    Anyway. Question:

Frankthetank: sleb/well known person you take most inspiration from?
  • Frank the tank
    Frank the tank Posts: 6,553
To answer that question honestly I'd have to say that my opinions and inspirations have come from my own experiences, and life. No real time for celebs and I've never really aspired to be like someone else.

I'm gonna get crucified here but politically it's people like Michael Foot, Dennis Skinner, Tony Benn, Dave Nellist (I'm sure that suprised you all  )

Sportswise, Brian Clough always said it the way he saw it and defeat was a word not in his vocabulary. (which given the list of politicians above, well, they're at odds with each other) but that's me.

Bloody Hell Frank, I used to like you but Dave Nellist, if he was less selfish about filing cabinets Blair and Brown would have never have met and "New Labour" would have just have been a twinkle in Maggies eye rather than a socialist betrayal of Trade unionism .

Just Joking mate, I had the great pleasure once upon a time of meeting Terry Hall from the Specials whilst mountain biking in the Peak District ( 100% top bloke) and I asked if he felt Ghost Town was a bit harsh on Conventry? He said he never really saw it that way until he bumped into Dave Nellist who gave him both barrels.

No need Frank, Your right. Back in the day Labour central offices thought it would be a good idea if that spunk stain Blair shared an office with a true legend.

Big Dave saw him for what he was and hence he went running to share some office space with Gordon, the rest is history so to speak.

If only Dave could have tolerated the little pip squeak and inserted a spine we might have ended up with a Labour party that didnt forget that the unions put them in power, and maybe they wouldnt have done Maggies job for her.

+1, don't forget PM Clement Attlee, or Nye Bevan. Attlee probably last person to enter PM's office with decent intentions...

Cheers Frank, they are some tough questions!

    1. I'd love to give Cheryl Cole the knockback, just because. And i'd like to snigger at Kate Moss if she asked me out, let her know what a real dog she is.

    2. Mr Ben - That way i could be whoever/whatever I wanted - oh the stunts I could pull.

    3. Short History, the non-election of Gordon Brown. Preferably I could attend with some form of blunt insrument. Proper History, I wouldn't mind being at the Assasination of Franz Ferdinand, but i wouldn't want to be there safely, i'd gladly take the bullet instead just to save who world a lot of heartache and pain.

    4. My last EVER £50? Four Chickens (3 female 1 male), some vegetable seed, couple of grow bags, some basic garden tools, possibly a year's alotment allocation - Go self sufficient and keep living...

    Enjoyed that.

    Questions for Tim Wand:

    1. If you had to choose a Conservative politician from the last 20 years to run the country for the rest of eternity, who would it be?

    2. If you could live in any place on gods earth, where would it be and why?

    3. What one single thing would you change if you could re-live your life?

    4. Desert Island Disc?

    2. My advice to Jan would have been ''try using der kaisers deluxe viagra eye drops - then you too can have a hard stare'

    3. Not who but what - I'd be the gusset of Kathy Burkes nether garments.

    4. Well all I know i s that the economy is such a bad way that my GF would rather have sex with me than spend money on batteries - so in 2015….i'd make really really cheap batteries.

and my rule breaking questions I'd ask Spectre

the same questions plus question 5 If you could speak donkey how often would you say 'I love you"?
