Big crash in the peloton.

Horrific weather forecast at the finish apparently.

The £1000 question iiiiiis - which will be more boring - my work or this race?

They have thrown in a couple more hills before the Mur. Will it make a difference? Probably not. Anyone who fails there wouldn't be doing anything on the Mur anyway.

Had a good bet on Gilbert at 13/2.

The worst day's race-watching is better than the best day's work*.

The best of the best duking it out on an iconic monster hill. What isn't there to like.

Rick. What other races do you like apart from those mostly involving Belgian racers that have just finished?

Ah, despite the fact the racing is appalling I genuinely love the Tour. Really love it.

The standard late '00s Giro-transition stage which bumps all the way I usually enjoy.

In fact, the Giro's good. A good, 7/10.

    Love the world's too.

The only big race I won't watch ( a sign that I don't like it) is the Vuelta, and again, that's mainly because I've spent all my brownie points watching every single other race before that point. When I was a student I enjoyed that too, though nowhere near the GIro, Tour, or one day races.

But you gotta admit, Amstel and la Fleche are properly dull apart from the final sprint. LBL always feels like a let down considering it's a monument.

5 minutes of excitement is better than no excitement at all.

    Ask my fiancee

It would be nice to see it light up a little earlier, you do sometimes get attacks on some of the earlier climbs (think Lofkvist and another rider tried a move last year) but they rarely get any traction.

    Oui.

There's too much time to gain with fresh legs on the Mur to do anything beforehand.

You don't call the Muur van Geraardsbergen, Geraardsbergen? You call it the Muur :P.

    No different, man.

At least, that's what I thought he meant. Could be something else altogether!

    Turbo cross wind @ finish.

Just be thankful Cadel Evans ain't riding. It'd be two hours of listening to Carlton's mancrush.

If Carlton Kirby calls it the Mur de Hoy (as in Chris) one more time I'm going to scream at the tv.

Big wind there. Nasty weather sweeping Europe.

Anyone who shows their nose in the finale before 500m (more like 200m) is defo lost.

But would that not make the win unworthy of a True Champion?
