hey up, just wondering if anyone runs a single chainring at the front with a 9 or 10 speed at the rear?

im building up a 29er and only want the largest ring at the front as mainly using it as a commuter / fitness bike over the wolds...

but, if i do this, will i have the issue of the chain being crossed too much like when you go big-big and little -little on a normal 3x10 set up?

any thoughts on running a road crank/ bb with a mtb rear derailler?
the bike frame is an on-one inbred.
cheers in advance!

Run the ring on the inside of the spider on your cranks and you'll be fine. Cranks (road/mtb) are interchangeable so no issues there.

Nice one, cheers. Do I need a different bb then too with a road crank?

Depends on the cranks, some share the same BBs, others are different!
