Hey,

Im looking to upgrade from a hard tail to a full suspension bike and I came across the Vitus Escarpe.
http://www.vitusbikes.com/mountain-2012/escarpe-1-2012

Im after a bike that is capable of most things, more all mountain and cross country. But as the bike is relatively new its hard to find many opinions on it.

It seems to be a fairly good price for the components that are on it and looks like it would do the job.

Any info or advice would be really appreciated, even suggestions for different bikes of a similar style.

Thanks.

Just to clarify, you realise that Vitus is now CRC's in house brand, like Carrera is for halfords and Pinnacle for Evans etc?

Spec is very comparable to the Boardman pro which is cheaper!

Revelations, 15mm axle, X9, Elixir (CR ilo 3's though), even the claimed weight is the same!
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

Looks like a decent bike to me. Pretty similar spec to the Boardman but with more travel at both ends.

I might be mistaken but I'm sure I got an email from CRC (last week?) with a very good offer for customers buying a Vitus. Can't find it now though but might be worth giving them a call.

Think I'd go for the Vitus out of the two. Saying that the money you'd save on the Boardman would easily pay for a Rockshox Reverb

Check out that CRC deal though
