    Not done it but have some friends who live close by and its on my to do list. Have a ride up it on Google Maps! Stunning at the top!

    Whats the generally acknowledged recognised route? I ve found 3 so far .
    Two of about 16 km and one of 35 km. Its going on my to do list as well, so if anyone nows of cheap accomodation nearby please chip in. As my previous experiences of Austria have been very painful on the wallet.

    Glad I wasn't the only one who watched that and thought it looked like a good ride! Nice cake too.

    Careful when you choose to do it though. I drove over it in May 2010 and the top was completely clouded over. The ticket booth at the bottom gives you a discount voucher if its a cloudy day - next trip is free of charge! Be a shame to ride up it to get no view at the top.
