Bike or wheels??

Currently im riding an unchanged specialised allez sport, mainly sora with a tiagra rear mech. im thinking about upgrading wheels, in which case i will be upgrading to a set of mavic kyserium elites as i want long term durabilty and good wheels that will stay with me as i upgrade so no problems on the wheel front. my query is that if the wheels are going to cost me £400 considering that my bike if i sold would be worth somthing like the £300-350ish mark would i be better off selling my bike and putting the wheel money with the sold bike money to get myself a better second hand bike? if anybody could help me out that would be great!

    I'd personally say that new bike would be more worthwhile for a bike that was bought at that price point.

    I'd say sell the bike and get a complete bike at a higher price point.

    Surely the money for the wheels and value of the sold bike won't add up to paying for a much better bike? Although I have never owned one I have read good things about th
    e spesh frame, which would suggest it's a good base for upgrading.
    I suspect that to make a significant improvement over what you have you'd need a much bigger outlay of money. you'd probably still end up with low level wheels.
    Consider using your £400 as a deposit on a more expensive bike on 0% finance if you have a steady income.
    Some people are like slinkies - not much use for anything, but they bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

    Hey guys, unfortunatly still a student so finance isnt a great idea at the momment! ive decided that since the spesh allez frames are a good base and it fits well im going to think long term and get the wheels and may choose to upgrade to 105 slowly with second hand kit!

    kesyriem wheels are the wrong choice for long term wheels. parts are difficult and and everything seizes together preventing adjustments.

    parts are got from the dealers direct, not online. a yearly service will be more than enough for it i believe. many club friends and race partners race/have raced on them and they come very highly reviewed both in durabilty weight and ride. but thanks all the same Rake :)
