Not quite a 'Diagonale', but..........

for end of May/early June next year.
Not, strictly speaking a Diagonale,
but the easiest entry and exit points
for us (most of the group will be Welsh).
Portsmouth-Cherbourg ferry, return via
Easyjet, Nice-Bristol.
Anyone done anything similar?
Did JOGLE last year (supported), but planning
this unsupported (with panniers), so was thinking
100 miles/day (flat), 100km/day (hilly/mountainous)
as a yardstick. 10 days, all in.
Will be taking the Kaffenback, but NOT as a singlespeed
(current setup) :o
Recruiting friends/colleagues atm, so early days, yet :D

    Just to let you know, seeing as you've routed as a pedestrian, that Google will route you along dirt paths, you may have checked the route for this of course, though it would be a little worrying to have to start going along some singletrack gravel track at 4pm for 20km ;)

    Something seems to have happened with BRT and it's auto routing, using Google data it uses main roads quite often, and using OSM it assumes you're on an MTB! I've found that using viaMichelin in France in cycle mode gives you a good quiet route, but haven't managed to transfer directly to my Garmin.

    Consensus amongst fellow travellers atm, seems to be 'sod the panniers', let's take a support van and driver!
