Storing Rechargeable Lights

Hi - does anyone know whether lights are supposed to be stored charged or empty? Many thanks.

  charged, and keep them topped up occasionally.

  Just about all batteries will fare better if they're stored charged. Can't think of a battery chemistry that prefers being kept flat.
