I'm riding the Wentwood 50 in South Wales on Sunday, so more than a couple of hours of non stop training.

I've just started to use the strava app on my smart phone, it's brilliant for a free app :D logs all my rides and I'm even KOM on some segments

Time to lay off the beer i think and get some training done lol

Anyone in the Sport Catergory so i know who im gonna be behind?

Not raced at Tunstall before, whats it like? hilly, muddy, rooty.....

Endomondo is also a very good app for logging rides. You can add friends, see how they are training and it also tells you when your friends are out on there bike (as long as they are using the app) so you can monitor there ride on the map and also give them pep talks. Brilliant! and its free 8)

tunstall was prob my favourite course last year - actually had a hill or two in it.... The only downside will be if it rains itll be a mudfest, but dry - slick tyres and off you go...

If youve ever ridden any of the gorrick races its a similar type of course terrain wise, and of course watch out for the low flying flashing lights in the forest...

Ring the bell and leg it...that really pi**es him off....

Does anyone want to partner up for the open race, so that we can ride around holding hands as I don't want to be riding alone through the forest :-0

From what I remember there's only a couple of spots wide enough for two bikes:wink:

It would seem the Tunstall round is back to where the 2 winter series races have been held, although i am gutted to not be racing, i dont envy anyone out there if its wet, that place is grim big style!

How do i break the news to my lad, that i will wait for him in the car if its raining while he does the under 12"s race.

I went with the specialized due to the design of the frame - can go as low as a kids 14'' which means Sonny can put both feet on the ground when he stops - also it has a regular front brake, but a coaster back brake, meaning he can stop pedaling and freewheel, and as soon as he pedals backwards it stops - Also I found it 2nd hand in leisurelakes for £100 and it was virtually new!

personally wouldnt have a prob with it - but id be be hind the person that hesitates or jams their brakes!

That does look as though it'd kill a few rear shocks though....

It's not hard, you've just just to ride at it, in the attack position, that's it - It's a case of having the confidence. Personally I welcome more technical terrain, some of the courses last year were glorified cross courses.

Annoyingly the easier line is the faster one.

personally a few more ups wouldnt go amiss - from memory tunstall was one of the few courses that had hills (or a hill!) - will be prayig for dry weather for the next week...

Can't see photo as have to logon to fcukbook! Not on site or blog.

I been working out on x trainer, spin bike and swimming
probably should be spending more time on bike.
I only ride 'em, I don't know what makes 'em work!
