Pedals rusted in

I've picked up a beater of a MTB and got it cleaned up & fettled for my pub & dog walking bike. The pedals have beaten me so far, they are absolutely solid rusted into the cranks.
Gallons of wd40 haven't made a scrap of difference, I've wrecked my pedal spanner and am starting to round the pedal off. I'm loathe to leave them on as they're clicky & knackered internally and as ugly as sin even for a hacker.
Any advice before I give up or lash out on new cranks that will triple the value of the whole thing.

mix 50/50 atf(automatic transmission fluid) with acetone (nail polish remover), shake it up and apply to the stuck area and let it soak in.0

Get cranks off, get them in a vice on a nice solid workbench and get a heat gun on them.- - - - - - - - - -

The above plus smack the surrounding crank arm with a hammer - the force can help the rust break its seal slightly making removal easier.0

+1 for heat. use a hair dryer if you have nothing more specialist. a few heat cycles and WD40 applied and left to soak over 24-48 hours should sort it0
