It was posted by a newbie, with far too many errors to correct! Hence my 'good effort' quip.

    Can't find them anywhere.

I rode the 110k rando today. Quite a number of the teams were out on the road and at one point we descended a long hill behind the Euskaltel team car and riders. Ridiculously entertaining !

Interesting odds movement between Valvarde and Wiggins.

Valvarde was favourite at 3/1 (roughly) with Wiggins down at 5/1 in #1 spot yesterday.

Since then Wiggins has narrowed it and now on average they're both on 7/2 - with varieties between all the different bookies - some with Wiggins in front, others Valvarde.

No particular reason that I can see - varies between brit bookmakers too.

Seems they can't make their mind up.

I've had a punt on Wiggins at 4/1 on sporting bet, hoping the TTs will ruin it for valverde!

9 times out of ten, a movement of odds is because of someone betting money. The odds are set by a computer program, not a man reading Cycling News.

For sure, but presumably there's some underlying base regarding who is likely to win and who isn't?

This is the same phenomenom (sp?) which puts England among the favourites for major football tournaments

that said Wiggins should be among the favourites for this race

That's why I try to look across different countries.

You won't find many bookies in Italy giving England short odds for example.

Odds are a pretty useful way to see who's the favourite and who isn't.

    Is this the Spoiler thread?!

It's on Sporza now - Andy Schleck on course!
