Bike rental in the Vendee

I am going to la tranche sur mer in the vendee region of france for 2 weeks in august and don't think the bike will be allowed to come on holiday! Does anyone know if it is possible to hire a decent road bike in the region?

My info is a decade out of date :oops: but there was definitely a bike hire shop in la Tranche in 2002; I've just checked Streetview and it's now a shoe shop.
