Hi Everyone,
I have been riding for some time now and im wanting to upgrade the stock wheels on my Giant TCR Composite 2 (2011).
Im a little unsure as to what kind of wheels i need. i.e. do i need shallow rims, deep rims etc...
Im not a feather weight (about 80kg) so im not a fantastic hill climber but im am the sort of rider that can fly on the flats for long periods of time.
Please help
Cheers

theres many conflicting factors like weight, low drag, cost, reliability, rideability if a spoke goes, safety, rider weight, parts avaiability , price and looks. some of those mavic wheels have hideously priced replacement spokes if you can find them but that might not bother you. i maintain that shimano hubs arent the lightest but ant be beaten on all round strength-performance-cost but price might not concern you. if there isnt anything wrong with the current wheels i wouldnt worry, they cant be to bad on that type of bike, dont expect massive gains unless they are over 2kg.0

Have just got the RS80 C50 from Planet-X excellent first impression, well below your budget at the moment at £499
have fitted them yesterday so cannot give a full ride view due to bad weather.0 -
STOP
you can have a pair of racing 3@ for less - sub £400! for a much better wheel than an RS 80
• Nominal weight*: front: 670g / rear: 885g

For your budget Shimano dura ace cl24s (7900) are hard to beat for a brilliant all round wheel.
Having said that, those Shamal's look fab and I think they are much the same as the Fulcrum Zero's which I have and rate very highly - they roll forever and a day.

Although the Campag wheels are great, I presume you are looking for Shimano compatible?
In which case maybe Fulcrum 1's, Mavic Ksyrium or Dura Ace as above?0 -
