Hi,

Quick question, I took delivery of my carbon fork today, its all very exciting, however I noticed a ‘pit’ in the surface of the steering tube, photo link below. Would this put anyone off using it?

thanks
Rob

    IMO I would use it.

However if you are really concerned take it to a reputable bike shop and just asj them to take a glance over it.

If they are happy then you should be happy.

+1 surface imperfections exist due to the moulding process.
That does not mean that component failure is imminent.
Unidirectional Carbon Fibre shows plenty of surface imperfections however, the perfect weave of 3k etc.is an aesthetic issue not a structural one.
Put your mind at rest by getting it checked out.
  • hi guys,

I did what you suggested and took it to my LBS and they said that it would be ok so I'm going to use it!

    thanks
