Hi all,
Very new to cycling and am looking to make my boardman pro 2010 a little lighter.
Please could someone advise if this will fit please ?

Also the tyres quite frankly worry me, any recomendations please ?
Two last queries, are there any known faults that I should look out for and also any other items that could be upgraded to make the cycle lighter.

It will fit, but will hardly be any lighter than what you have on already.
Tyres are a good place to start, look for cross country kevlar (foldable) items.
WHat pedals are you using? Also foam grips save loads of weight for a few quid.0 -
Ok, was thinking of changing the stem aswell as the seatpost to carbon.
Im using stock pedals at the moment.
Re the tyres for winter time any that you would recomend, am using Speed Kings and have had a few dodgy moments going over the slightest bit of mud !

You need to weigh the seatpost, bar and stem really - carbon bars and seatpost make sense, but not stems, as alloy stems are often lighter and cheaper.

Carbon does not always mean less weight!
If you're that intent on saving weight, weigh what you have atm and work out the £/gram of the 'upgrade'.0 -

I have a full WCS carbon set up on my light weight easy xc bike (stem/post/bars/forks) & can't really recommend the carbon stem. It's not any lighter than the WCS 4 axis normal one & flexes really quite a lot. If I actually rode hard xc on it I wouldn't use it.0
