Buying a Cannondale Synapse (frame only)

Would I be right in thinking that Cannondale dealers aren't allowed to sell anything but whole bikes? I'm just after a frame to build up. Nearest Cannondale dealer wasn't much help either way!

I know Specialized will sell a Roubaix Hi-Mod frame but I don't think they do the cheaper carbon frame? Not quite decided between the Synapse and Roubaix yet.

  • I've never seen Cannondale frames for sale individually.
I think you'll struggle to get one tbh.
I've never understood it as I fancied a supersix frame a while back but could only get a full bike so never bothered in the end.

They used to sell frameset only but they were only a couple of hundred pound less than a complete bike - IIRC, when they were first released, a CAAD8 frameset was £800 but you could get a complete 105 equipped bike for £999 - £1099 (before any discount) so didn't make sense for anyone to buy frame only.
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

Yeah I saw the one on ebay. I'm after something like a 50 alas, not many of those around second hand. No rush though. It'll be a few months until it's road bike weather up here.

My LBS are a Cannondale dealer. They are a good bunch of guys in there. Give them a call and they will be able to give you the definitive answer http://www.westbrookcycles.co.uk/
