New wheels set buying advise.

Hey all..

I'm looking to upgrade my wheels on my Commencal premier plus.

My budget is around 350-375 (ish).
I weight around 14 stone..

I mainly do trail riding. and the odd jump, kicker that you find along the way..

So it needs to be pretty strong ( the reason for upgrading is because my front hub is knackered and my back wheel is bent! )

But if possible to save a bit of weight aswell would be an added bonus, ( as it's a bit on the heavy side for my liking )

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks :)

Any wheelset should be strong if built right..

Anyway I would probably go for a pair of XT from Merlin for £250 which are UST compatible or Hope Pro2 on Stans Flows for £325 again from Merlin

+1 to the hope and flows from merlin (and the XT for that matter to be honest)

I've been very impressed by the wheels merlin have built for me and the dad, and they always seem to get positive comments for good strong builds. I've had to have one of their wheels trued once, and it was a lightweightish XC rim on a hardtail that I gave it a mighty old hammering to over a few days of some proper big mountain stuff, it wasn't even that far out.

A bit late now but for the benefit of anyone else following this thread, these are fantastic value for money.

I haven't got these myself but they would be on my shortlist as I have AC wheels on my hybrid road bike and they are superb.
