Powerlink unexpected failure

Have used powerlinks for years without issue then blow me, zipping along when pedalling became remarkably easy and forward motion was curtailed. Chain lying on the floor with the powerlink gone. Thankfully still carry good old fashioned chain splitter so repair made and home achieved.
