Hi anyone know of any decent routes in the Brum/Solihull area?

Looking at getting a bike in the next week or so and looking for suggestions.

I know the canals which is ok, looing for something a bit more challenging.

    Cannock is obvious but depending how far you want to go there is also Malvern, Long Mynd and Llandegla.

    Here's some routes I do around Birmingham.

    None of these routes are at all technical, its more about getting the miles in for me when riding local. They are almost all bridal way so are a mixture of country lanes and off road sections.

    South of Birmingham

    The loop part starts in Lowsonford and goes near to Henley-in-Arden. It takes in a decent amount of canal first though, if you start in Kings Heath, which unless its a really nice day can be pretty dull.

    Alvechurch Loop - I really like this ride and I have added in further sections to it since this I did this map. It gets very boggy in the winter though.

    Alvechurch and Licky Hills - This is a variation on the above one but includes a section of the Licky Hills.

    Licky Hills to Clent Hills - I have a route that does both of these hill areas but I don't seem to have a GPS recording of it. There is only one section that gets proper boggy in the winter. Look up some OS maps of the area and I'm sure you'll work that one out.
