This looks like a possible good idea for a bike for my girlfriend. Cheap-ish and upgradeable. It means if she doesn't get that into riding, it won't matter too much as it's not a massive outlay (in MTB terms). But is solid enough to be upgraded if needed.
It's a bit boring colour wise though..... Something like an On One or Ragley version would be ideal, but don't think I could build one for the same cost.

I think it is a good bike for the experienced and skilled rider, a good bike for the very simple leisure rider who doesn't venture far off road or hits steep hills, but for all those inbetween it could be limiting. Certainly has its place though, but is really just a hybrid. Not easy to upgrade as is not disc ready, and won't take the fattest tyres out there, neither has a front chainset. Is a double edged sword, in the right hands amazing, in the wrong, won't work.

But if going to be going more off road I'd still be looking at an entry level MTB.0 -
Limited to 2" tyres and coming with 1.5" makes it a hybrid really, frame and forks are disc capable but you'd need wheels.

These look like a great choice for those doing a bit of off road, nice and simple, and low weight for the price
If my Mrs was in the market for one I would certainly suggest it.0 -
It's low weight as has half the gears missing and narrow tyres lol.0
