I posted this in cake stop but for those who wont venture beyond the borders of pro race here's a beautiful little film by Louis Malle on the 1962 TdF

Vive Le Tour
The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns

  • Nice, I love the old cycling lore because on my budget, I can only ride an old bike but it's a ton of fun...and my fave articles in Cycle Sport is usually when they talk about the old masters, to ride the tour in those days is spectacular.
  • Superb thanks.

First time I've heard that after taking alol those bottles without paying the managers could get a bill! And what other sport do you see contenders continue with blood pouring out!

  • Malle was (is?) a real cycling fan - one of the collaborator's in Lacombe Lucien is depicted as an ex-pro
