Roof mounting an Orange Alpine 160

Just wondering which is the best roof mount to transport my Alpine? Thinking of the Thule 561 or 591 but i'm not sure if the 591 could get a hold of the frame.

Currently it get wrapped in rags and put in boot of car.

    why? how big is the tube?

    most places will let you try it for size.

  • Wasn't really the size of the tube more the height at which it holds onto the tube. I tried the alpine on a Halfords own brand one, which looks very similar to the basic thule version and that couldn't reach high enough to get hold of the frame.

    The 591 will work with the frame, I have seen a few being used for Orange 5's and I did see an Alpine held by on at Deggy a few weeks back....
