Well I was looking at the Trance range, but after seeing a Ghost AMR 5900, I decided I would get that only if I could find it cheapish.

I've sorted it all out, and I'll be paying £1172!! Not bad for a 2k bike, and still £500 cheaer than you can get it in the UK.

Needless to say, I'm very happy. The only downside is I have to wait until 7 Nov before I can pick it up - the bike is in Germany but I'm in the UK all next week.

  • You mean to Hameln? If you're looking for a new bike, its worth a trip. They have some awesome bargains in that place. And I'm assuming you can get them tax free as well so even more money to be saved.

  • Oh ok, I thought you might be forces. We get it tax free which is why I got it so cheap.

Still some good prices to be had there.
  • Took delivery of mine last week. Got the 2012 model, absolutely love it already.
  • I love the colours of the 2012 models, very nice.

Sitting behind this stupid desk thinking its still 10 days away is killing me.

I like the styling of Ghost bikes, they're very Trek like albeit without the ABP or DRCV shock.
  • I originally ordered a 2011 in the sale from Sunset Mtb, but they were out of stock so did me the 2012 at the same price. Not quite £1172, but I was still chuffed.

Did yourself a favour not buying the Trance. My mate has one and it's utter rubbish
Flexy frame, cranks are forever creaking (Shimano BB) and he's had both brake hoses pop off too.. That bike of his has deterred me from ever buying a Giant of any kind.

The Ghost bikes are great though, amazing value for money and good specs
Quite sad that you can buy it so very much cheaper in the EU mainland than you can here.

Looks really good. It looks very similar to my 2008 Stumpy FSR, not that thats a bad thing mind
Bikes are OK, I guess... :-)

That's the first bad thing I have heard anyone say about the Trance, everyone else seems to have nothing but praise for it. And mbr gave it bike of the year, although the Ghost and Specialised Camber were 2nd/3rd.

Yeah it is very good value. A lot of places in Germany cost mostly the same as the UK, this was just a bargain in the sale. I couldn't believe my luck when I found the place.
