Just picked up a cross bike, it's running 700x35 tyres, can I get away with 28-32 tubes, or am I going to have to go hunting for a 28-38?

Cheers

  • Hi Mike, Continental do a Cross 28 that covers the 35 that you need without the great inner tube hunt.

Lovely bit of rubber, without trying to sound as if I'm into that kind of thing (which I'm not).

    CRC have some - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=31629

PBK have some too, as long as don't mind mail ordering them.

32mm tub will stretch to a 35mm no problem - it''s when you try to stretch a skinny 20-23mm tube that it gets interesting as the tubes can start to give at the seams.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Thanks for the replies - I'll run with what I have for the mo in that case, and then probably get hold of the Contis for when I inevitably snakebite the current tubes to bits.
