Lezyne Power Drive 2012 front light... Any good?

Hi,

Looking at the new Lezyne Power Drive 2012.
http://goo.gl/GeKDT It's new but seems pretty bright in the shop and good build quality for the price. 300 Lumens too! Anyone have one yet?

    2 weeks ago i bought a 1600 lumens bike light from ebay and its really powerfull and todate no problems and at £36 its a streal,its from honk kong but have a look at cree xml xm-l on ebay sporting goods section.i hope this is usefull..

    I'd assume that the OP is a road rider. I think 1600 is really only appropriate for off road use.

    Depends what it's being used for. It's Lezyne, so no doubt it will be well built.

    im not just a roadie but also love the off road stuff as well, the light suits all my needs.

    Well, for me it will be mainly road use, I'm not a big off-road rider at night!

    Given your location, I expect it's unlit roads, so Tony's suggestion isn't a bad one. I have a similar one, with a diffuser lens on it and it's better (in my opinion) than my mate's £200+ exposure one for output. Longevity may be another issue...
    My backup light is an LED lenser T7 torch on a cheap lockblock- similar price (£35) but more robust (2nd year of use) and more versatile (use off the bike).

    Combination of lit and unlit. Being noticed on the road is a struggle down here - I'll have a forum search for rear lights too. The one above for £30+ - it's well worth a look anyway isn't it! Probably going to get the Lazyne and use it on the helmet and go with the HK special on the bars!

    Thank you, I'll have a look for sure! For £36 even if it only gives a few moths service it's well worth it!

    If your riding unlit roads these are hard to beat ..

    I run the more expensive version with the battery pack with an inbuilt battery indicator LED but the same power and it is plenty for unlit lanes at full speed.
