    Turbo montage.

As a bit of a montage connoisseur, that is an excellent one. (Though I didn't get any of the sound - supposed to be working).

Having seen the route a while ago, I think it's made everyone lose interest.

    It wouldn't be Lionel otherwise.

    He's not wrong though.

Which experts are touting Sagan as a contender for the GC?

Has he ever finished in the top ten in a major stage race?
  • hinault and terence trent derby, whats that about :D

So is it as rumoured with not much 'major' climbing and lots of TT miles?

3 TT's, 2 mountain top finishes, could this be the dullest TdF ever?

Who knows. It's enough to make me consider trips to one day races in the spring rather than the French holiday in July.

Could make the two Pyrenees stages particularly good though. The climbers won't be able to rely on gaining a handful of seconds a day over several days. Hopefully it will lead to some more make or break attacks like Schleck's last year?

Terrible route.... really terrible. As I said when the leak came out, the Giro will trump the Tour. The Giro route is pretty awesome compared to this.

It is true though that Wiggo will be creaming himself with this parcours.

EDIT: Just to add - two MTFs in a GT is utterly pathetic

I was considering it anyway to be honest and now I'm convinced it's the right thing to do. Plus it means there is only around 6months before I get to see some racing as opposed to 9.

Route looks alright. I used to think more was better with the mountains but the same guys win and they are more worried about losing, meaning they watch each other. Next year's race seems to give more chances to the likes of Gilbert, Voeckler, Chavanel and LL Sanchez, not for the overall but to get stuck in for the stages.

Some news in the stage details. Very little of those 'surprises' promised. Most disappointing news: They're not doing the Grand Colombier from the terrible 19% side, but a more moderate South-East. Still a hard climb, but not the iconic one it could have been.
The Mt Peguere in the stage to Foix on the other hand is a pleasant surprise.

A dull route can produce an exciting race and vice versa. It looks dull, but who knows how it pans out - for one, climbers without a great TT will have to go full out in the few mountain stages there are with that 52 km flat final TT at the end. And that TT also means few riders will guard their positions early on as there's bound to be shifts through the TT at the end.

Best news, three stages in riding distance from me! :D
  • The ASO and RCS agreed to drop the Grand bit of their respective titles for 2012.
    I blame the lympics.

Problem is, Contador can climb and TT, so that's that TdF done and dusted then...

I don't know. Everyone moaned about the insane difficulty of the Giro and it resulted in negative racing, so they've designed a more balanced course. ASO are trying to encourage attacking riding

I love mountain stages but a lot of summit finishes are a load of tosh

It's an interesting route. Certainly do agree it does invite riders be combative as their isn't as many oppotunities to do it. Climber vs TT'er will be interesting. This should certainly light up the mountain stages.

    Looking forward to it!
