i have a standard chris king 1 1/8 headset in a foes DHS mono (2009) frame, the problem with it is that it tends to make creaking and ticking noises mostly when the forks (fox 40RC2) are turned all the way but sometimes when i just turn them a little bit. Can someone help me, i had the headset fitted my a professionals with all correct tooling as i watched them do it and i've tightened the top cap to remove the play from the headset but not any tighter.

thanks, luke

which version and year is the headset?

the old one with the O ring?
  • It was bought in late 2007 and as far as I'm aware had no o-ring as part of the final assembly.

sounds like an old style one. they are crap on any fork over about 120mm.

swap it for a better design.
