How many riders were on the Manchester 100 yesterday?

I really enjoyed the mc 100 yesterday, but when someone asked me afterwards how many people did it I found it impossible to even guesstimate.
The starts were spread across 2 hours (I think) and sometimes I was in groups of 20-50, sometimes no-one else in sight - especailly after around 60-70 miles in.
Anyone got any idea how many people rode it?
