hi looking to buy a tt frame seen one on the for sale section its a 53.5 top tube im 5'8"
tall and ride a 54cm r3sl road bike was wondering if this fame would be a good size or do you need to size down?

  • Typically you need a shorter top tube for a TT bike than on your road bike.

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.

  • It'll depend on geometry - put it this way - my TT bike is 2cm shorter with a 3cm shorter stem and if anything it's still too long - but I'm on a bigger bike than you so the change is proportionally less.

I think sizing a TT bike is harder than a road bike - geometry probably has a wider range of angles and people have very different preferred positions.

I wouldn't want to go further than that as I'm only a very occasional TTer.
