Im looking for a cheap'ish hardtail frame. For under £300, im looking at the on one 456 and that sort of thing. I'm keen on it being quite light but able to fit a long travel fork. Im used to a 2005 Kona Dawg

If you can up to £400 the 456 is availablein carbon, and that is 2lbs lighter than the 456 steel.0

I have a mint condition Cotic BFe for sale in the classifieds.
It's match for the 456 with Reynolds 853 and 631 tubing for stifness and light weight. Rated for forks up to 160mm, with geometry for forks between 100-160.0 -
All steels are the same density and stiffness ;-)0

cheers for the advice. Dan, i would love to buy your frame but i'd have to wait till my dad comes home from holiday and i'd presume it would be sold by then . Btw how much does it weigh?0

Frame is 5.5lbs, do you have to wait for your Dad so you have a lift? When is he due back?0

how much would that roughly build up to if i took bits off a giant trance and added a rs rev fork? He's back on Monday.0

About 27-29Lb, about 2lb more than the Trance, as that's about the difference in frame weight.

Surely you mean less than the trance?0

It'll be less than the Trance, the difference will be very minor though, I'd bet sub 1lb.
What fork is on the Trance at the moment?0 -
Sorry, I meant about 2lb less than the trance which comes out at 27-29 depending on which trance model you start at!
